2008, May 28: Just bought our BM tix

It's official! D & I are heading to Burning Man (BM) 2008!
WOOHOO!! BM has been ongoing for 10+ years, I've been talking about it all year, we live just 2.5 hrs away, and we're finally going this year! I'm soo excited and I cannot wait to experience a different festivity. D & I went to Bonnaroo 2 years in a row (SEE OUR PAST JUNE POSTINGS). This year, D is heading back to Bonnaroo with 5 other boys in an RV - oh boy!!! Bonnaroo has about 80,000 people in attendance while BM has about 25,000 people. I was told that if we've gone to Bonnaroo, then BM will be smooth sailing. I look forward to experiencing something new this year. stay tuned for more details.

2008, May 23-26: Memorial Weekend in Lake Shasta, CA

The start of our camping stories! We got invited from our friends, who happen to be our auto mechanics, to their annual trip to Shasta campground: www.shastarv.com/
The weather was just not in our favor over the holiday so we ended up couped up in our trailer while rain poured down every day. We still made the most of it by going fishing, sitting by the campfire and drinking! Thanks again for such a great time and we hope mother nature won't act up the next time!

2008, May 8-10: Babysitting Baby Benson!

My gf asked me if I was willing to babysit their new puppy, Benson. Benson is a 3 mos, golden lab - the cutest thing in the world!! I LOVE dogs so much but I'm still not ready to have one. D & I still travel a lot and we wouldn't have any time to take care of a dog. We would feel bad for not giving our divided attention. After one weekend with Benson, I still want one but for now, call me auntie bin!

2008: May 8: More friends at the STH

More friends at the Sierra Tap House (Zach, Kalilah, Matt, Maria). It was Maria's birthday and it was great to see her & Matt out!

2008, May 2-5: Drinking grape juice in Napa, CA

We were invited by our friends Jay & Cassie to their annual retreat at a 5000 sq ft house on Silverado Trails in the Rutherford area of Napa Valley, CA. The house was amazing - built with 5 spacious rooms and a cottage by the pool. The spacious kitchen was built with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. The porch overlooked the many rows of grape vines growing in the field. This year, Cassie decided to look into getting a mini-bus for the 8 of us. What a great time knowing that we can drink and NOT drive!
We stopped at Storybook, Round Pound, Napa Wine Co, Peju, Failla, Joseph Phelps, BV, and Pine Ridge. D & I tried so hard to stay in a budget b/c if you've been to Napa, you know their wines and their wine tastings aren't cheap! But of course, we came back with many bottles (don't worry, we're not complaining AND those are NOT all our wine purchases in the photos)! We were so lucky to be a part of this experience again w/ friends.
