2007, Apr 26-29: Airstream Rally in Casini Ranch, CA

D & I went to our very 1st Airstream Rally near Bodega Bay. Since we bought the Airstream trailer about 2 months ago, D has been logging in email miles with other Airstreamers on the Airstream Forum. Most recent emails were of meeting up at Casini Ranch, CA campgrounds. So we hitched the trailer and drove about 5 hours to the campgrounds. There were about 30-40 vintage & new trailers all parked in the campground. At first, we were nervous about what to expect but we soon realized that most of everyone we met said this was their 1st rally too!

From Thursday - Saturday, events consisted of: lots of wine & cheese parties, singing, campfire stories, Airstream "open house", potlucks, & movie night! One night I think I had too little food and too much wine that I ended up singing with the musician! We enjoyed ourselves with new friends & can't wait for Airstream rally sequels!

On Saturday, D & I took the day and went on the windy roads to the southern coastal part of Bodega Bay (Tomales Bay). The blue ocean was beautiful to view. Our mission was to stop by Hog Island Oyster Farm for some fresh raw oysters: www.hogislandoysters.com
D shucked all 2 dozen oysters & boy were they YUMMY!

2007, Mar 30 - Apr 2: Paso Robles, CA

We headed to Paso Robles, CA this weekend b/c we are getting married in September. D's dad & friends own a small piece of an investment property in PR and invited us back to the property to plan our wedding. While we wish to invite the entire world, we are having a small ceremony with only our immediate family & closest friends.

D & I hitched the Airstream trailer and drove about 7.5 hours to PR. It was a long drive but we broke it up in 2 segments..... we ended up stopping at a random gas station where all truck drivers stopped to park & sleep. I have to admit, "boondocking" was quite fun.
