So my friend Yori and his friend Marsha came to visit me over the weekend. Weather conditions called for snow all weekend. there was an open window of sunny skies at mt. rose ski resort but it soon turned into wet, cold, snowy weather. after lunch, the snow really started to fall quickly. low visibility, cold snow pelting my face, numbed extremities - not fun at all! on our very last run, Marsha couldn't see where she was going and ended up boardin down the wrong trail. we were lucky enough to stop her otherwise, she would've headed down a black run! unfortunately, M couldn't board herself back to where Yori & I were, she had to hike herself back up. she was exhausted and the powdered snow only stuck to her. luckily the ski patrol station was right in front of us. M was able to get a free tobaggan ride back down to the lodge. she described the ride as being closed in a coffin - eeekk!! Thanks Yori & Marsha - next time, let's board in sunny conditions :)

2007, Feb 8: Our 2nd Annual Chinese New Years
Happy Chinese New Years - the Year of the Rat! This was our 2nd annual Hot Pot Dinner Party. While we wished we could invite everyone to our house, we only had limited amount of seats avl. Another great dinner party with Zach volunteering to eat the thousand year old egg ("black egg"). i grew up on black eggs for chinese breakfast (rice porridge) and love the taste. Last year's Hot Pot Party, Matt ate it on a dare, this year, Z was brave enough to volunteer. Z, I hope your stomach sat well to it :) If you don't know what it is - don't ask, just google it, i don't plan on describing it to you here... it may get you nauseated.
